Absorbine’s Ultra Shield Green Gel Natural Fly Repellent
As Grooms, we all know the value of convenience, ease of use and also final turnout of our horse. We need “stuff” that is easy to use, effective at what it does, and helps our horses look 129% in the show ring. That’s a tall order, especially when your product also needs to combat flies, gnats, and other horse eating bugs like mosquitoes.
Bugs seem to be everywhere, all the time, sometimes even in winter! Flies, gnats, mosquitoes and critters in general are irritating and can interfere with your horse’s performance and overall comfort. Under saddle, bugs and gnats can cause annoyance and distractions, not to mention what they can do to the rider if your teeth act as a windshield.
Absorbine has created their Ultra Shield Green Gel Natural Fly Repellent to combat gnats and flies while also staying green, natural, and environmentally friendly. Almost forgot - it also works. Here’s what I love about this stuff:
-Size. The container is small, and can even fit into your back pocket. This is great for shows, it’s not a huge container to lug around.
-Efficient. A little goes a long way.
-Ease of use. The pump is easy to use control how much you use. I’ve never been a fan of spraying fly spray into a horse’s face, even from a few feet away. The application with your fingers is spot on and won’t get in their eyes.
-Invisible. No greasy residue means you can’t see it on ears, faces, or bellies. It also means no drips, so no running into eyes or noses. Because it’s invisible, it’s also ideal for the show ring.
-Great for Grooms, too. I like to use a little bit of Ultra Shield Green Gel Natural Fly Repellent on the underside of my baseball cap’s brim to keep the bugs away from me. It’s also safe for dogs.
-Cut friendly. You can use it on minor cuts and scrapes to protect the wound from insects.
-Green. The ingredients are plant oils, and the container is designed for recycling.
